Check-ups and everyday care

Many people do well with a check-up about every six months. Your dentist may suggest a different schedule based on the health of your teeth and gums.

Brush twice a day for about two minutes with a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Clean between your teeth once a day with floss or an interdental brush.

Sensitivity can come from worn enamel, receding gums, a cavity or a crack. A check-up can find the cause, and a sensitivity toothpaste may help in the meantime.

Brush your teeth and tongue, clean between your teeth and drink plenty of water. If it continues, have your teeth and gums checked, as gum disease and decay are common causes.

Children's teeth

Plan the first visit when the first tooth appears, or by your child's first birthday. Early visits help children get used to the clinic.

Under three years, use a smear the size of a grain of rice. From three to six years, use a pea-sized amount. Help your child brush until they can do it well on their own.

Treatments

Root canal treatment is done under local anaesthetic, so you should feel pressure rather than sharp pain. Some soreness for a few days afterwards is normal.

Rinse with warm salt water and take pain relief you know is safe for you, then call us on +91 98654 65600. If you have swelling in your face, fever or trouble swallowing or breathing, get urgent medical help.

Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. If it's an adult tooth, rinse it briefly and try to put it back, or keep it in milk. See a dentist as soon as you can, as time matters.

Routine dental care is generally considered safe, and it's important for your health. Tell your dentist if you're pregnant, so they can plan your treatment and timing.
