Cosmetic Dentistry explained
Cosmetic dentistry covers treatments that change how your teeth look. These include whitening, tooth-coloured bonding, reshaping, veneers and straightening.
We make sure your teeth and gums are healthy first. Then we talk through what you'd like to change and which option fits your teeth and budget.

What happens during treatment
- 1
Talk about your smile
You tell us what you'd like to change, and we examine your teeth.
- 2
Treat any problems
Decay or gum problems are treated before cosmetic work starts.
- 3
Choose a plan
We explain your options, how long they take and what they cost.
- 4
Carry out treatment
Treatment is completed in stages, with time to check you're happy.
Will it hurt?
Most cosmetic treatments are gentle. Whitening can make teeth sensitive for a short time, and any treatment that needs numbing is done under local anaesthetic.
After your treatment
- Keep brushing twice a day and clean between your teeth
- Cut down on tea, coffee and tobacco to reduce staining
- Attend check-ups so your dental work can be looked after
